Your hands go into a warm soak to soften the skin, cuticles are tidied and eased back, then every nail is cut, filed and shaped to the length that suits you. We finish with a buff, a hand massage, and the polish of your choice — or leave it at the natural buff if you'd rather keep things bare.

The one thing to decide when you book is the finish. Regular polish dries in the chair, comes off at home whenever you feel like a change, and is the easy pick if you switch colours often. Shellac is cured under a lamp instead, so it stays glossy and chip-free for two to three weeks — it's $10 on top of the standard manicure, and takes a quick soak-off in salon when you're done with it.
